At least 12 people were killed and 21 others injured in a suicide bombing near the Islamabad Kacheri (District Judicial Complex) earlier today.
According to police, a vehicle caught fire immediately after the blast, with flames rapidly spreading and damaging several nearby cars and motorcycles.
A large number of security personnel were deployed to the scene within minutes, while rescue teams transported the injured to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Hospital authorities said several victims are in critical condition, warning that the death toll could rise.
President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and praying for the swift recovery of the injured. He also praised law enforcement agencies for their response.
