The bail application filed by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa in connection with the Airbus case was not taken up by the three-judge High Court bench today after the prosecution failed to appear before court.
Rajapaksa was produced before the three-judge High Court bench following an order issued by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
The High Court ordered prison authorities to produce Rajapaksa before court on November 19 and issued notices directing the prosecution and the Registrar of the Colombo Magistrate’s Court to appear on the same date.
The judges noted that the original case records relating to the proceedings before the Magistrate’s Court had not been properly filed.
The Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar was presided over by High Court Judges Priyantha Liyanaga, P. A. T. Bandara and Nuwan Dhammika Dissanayake.
