Several bank accounts belonging to Rakitha Rajapaksa, son of former Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa, have been suspended, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has stated.
According to the Commission, the suspension notices were issued under the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime Act in connection with an ongoing investigation.
A team of CIABOC officers visited Rakitha Rajapaksa’s residence in Nawala to deliver the official notice regarding the suspension of the relevant bank accounts.
However, the Commission said that Rakitha Rajapaksa was not at home when the officers arrived.
