At least 50 people were injured following a head-on collision between two private buses in the Thalalla area within the Gandara Police Division in Matara this morning.
According to police, the accident occurred when two private passenger buses collided head-on under circumstances that are currently being investigated.
The injured were admitted to the Matara and Dickwella (Betheegama) hospitals for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
