Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has been named as the fourth suspect in the Krrish case, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
The development was reported to the court by CIABOC on the instructions of the Attorney General.
The case relates to an alleged payment of Rs. 70 million to Rajapaksa from an account belonging to the Krrish Group.
As part of the investigation, CIABOC has also recorded a statement from the parliamentarian, who is currently in remand custody following a previous court order obtained by the Bribery Commission.
Meanwhile, former Krrish director Janaki Siriwardena was recently arrested and remanded until October 6 by order of the court.
