The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken two suspects into custody in connection with drug trafficking following a special operation carried out in the Kegalle area.
The arrests stemmed from an investigation launched after the Central Bank of Sri Lanka reported suspicious transactions detected in the suspects’ bank accounts.
During the operation, police also seized a van, a small lorry, and a three-wheeler believed to have been used in activities linked to the drug network.
All seized vehicles have been taken into police custody as investigations continue.
