Leader of the House and Minister Bimal Ratnayake stated that the bill seeking to abolish Members of Parliament pensions, which has already been presented to Parliament, is expected to be passed within the next six weeks.
The Minister подчеркed that the main aim of the proposed legislation is to prevent the misuse of political office for personal gain and to strengthen integrity and accountability in public service.
He also disclosed that four ministerial residences in Colombo have been allocated for judicial use as part of ongoing administrative and institutional reforms.
