A Gazette notification has been issued in relation to the Bill seeking to abolish the pension scheme granted to Members of Parliament.
Following the publication of the Gazette, the proposed Bill is due to be presented to Parliament for debate and approval.
Once enacted, the legislation will be titled the “Parliamentary Pensions Abolition Act, No. 2025.”
Under the proposed law, the Parliamentary Pensions Act No. 1 of 1977, enacted by the National Council of State, will be formally repealed.
