The Ministry of Education has directed all international schools across Sri Lanka to close temporarily with immediate effect due to the severe weather conditions impacting several parts of the country.
The instruction was issued by Nalaka Kaluwewa, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of students as heavy rains and potential landslide risks persist.
The Ministry emphasized that protecting children remains its top priority and called on all international school administrations to cooperate fully and implement the closure responsibly until further notice.
