The National Police Commission (NPC) has approved the transfer of 25 Police Officers, including several Officers-in-Charge (OICs), with many reassigned from their current posts to general duties.
According to the Police Media Unit, a series of key positional changes include:
- The OIC of the Illegal Assets Investigation Division has been transferred as the OIC of the Kitulgala Police Division.
- The Head of the National Police Academy has been appointed as the OIC of the Mulleriyawa Police Division.
- Two officers attached to general duties at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have been transferred as the OICs of the Mulleriyawa and Ahungalla Police Stations.
The transfer list also includes OICs from the following Police Stations:
- Ataweeragolla, Jaffna, Puttlam, Deiyandara, Elpitiya, Giriulla, Kitulgala, Nelliady, Kilinochchi, Kegalle, Homagama, and Wanathavilluwa.
Additionally, OICs of the Matale, Uhana, Weliweriya, Kelaniya, Kumbukgete, Kurunegala, and Endana Police Stations have also been transferred.
Police sources said the transfers were approved based on service requirements and administrative needs.
