Talks centered on strengthening ties between the two nations, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to closer cooperation.
Sasakawa pledged the Nippon Foundation’s continued support for improving the lives of Sri Lankans and announced plans to renovate and modernize 100 schools in the Northern and Eastern provinces, enhancing educational opportunities in post-conflict regions.
President Dissanayake expressed appreciation for the foundation’s longstanding contributions to Sri Lanka’s social and national development.
