A special committee has been appointed to investigate the accident involving a Cessna seaplane that occurred yesterday during a landing attempt at Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya.
The committee is chaired by Captain Daminda Rambukwella, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and comprises specialists from several engineering and technical disciplines.
Captain Rambukwella stated that recovery operations are currently in progress with the support of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Navy, and Police. He added that the aircraft is expected to be transported to Colombo later today for further technical examinations as part of the investigation.
