A truck transporting a wind turbine blade for the Mannar wind power project overturned this afternoon (Nov. 2) near the outer gate of the Trincomalee China Bay Port.
According to police, the prime mover veered off the road and toppled, damaging a nearby Buddhist shrine and a storage building within the port premises.
The driver and his assistant sustained minor injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which caused temporary traffic congestion near the port entrance.
