PM Harini Meets ADB President During Switzerland Visit Ahead of World Economic Forum

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who is currently on an official visit to Switzerland, has met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The meeting took place at the Congress Centre in Switzerland, the venue for the annual WEF in Davos-Klosters.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya and her delegation are participating in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, which is being held under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.” The main sessions of the forum began on January 19 and will continue for five consecutive days until January 23.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister and her delegation were warmly received at Zurich Airport by Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ms. Himali Arunatilaka.

The forum has drawn nearly 3,000 high-level participants, including heads of state, government leaders, CEOs of multinational corporations, policymakers, technology innovators, journalists, and representatives from civil society.

During her visit, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya is also scheduled to engage in a series of high-level bilateral meetings with international leaders, heads of global organisations, and other dignitaries.
