The Sri Lankan government has approved the creation of a Government Super App, a unified digital platform designed to give citizens easy access to a wide range of state services.
The initiative aims to replace fragmented processes across departments by consolidating services into a single mobile and web interface. Once operational, the app is expected to handle more than two million service interactions annually for Sri Lanka’s 14 million citizens aged 18 and above.
The Cabinet has cleared the project to be rolled out in two phases between 2025 and 2026, with an allocated budget of Rs. 500 million. Authorities estimate the move will also save the economy nearly Rs. 500 million in losses caused by bureaucratic inefficiencies.
