(LKPost.LK): The Supreme Court on Tuesday sentenced former Controller General of Immigration and Emigration Harsha Illukpitiya to two years in prison for contempt of court.
The ruling came after Illukpitiya disregarded an interim order suspending Sri Lanka’s e-visa process. The order was issued in response to widespread criticism and legal challenges over the government’s agreement with VFS Global to handle the country’s online visa system.
